I got a little commiseration, but no suggestions on a fix. Since then, I've
downloaded guile-1.6.3, removed all old Guile packages from my system, and
tried the offending command in the Bourne shell in the vain hope that
something would have solved the problem. Instead, I get the same thing. The
problem is clearly in the script... when it attempts to run, I get a
Segmentation Fault and core dump. I'd really appreciate some feedback...
does no one compile Guile on Solaris 8 (SPARC)? I'm using the v3.2 gcc...
don't really know what else to do without spending an unreasonable amount of
time learning things that are secondary to my real goal, which is to build a
package that depends on Guile availability.

Still hoping for some hints, at least...
