That's what Marco and I said as well. :) However, that flag is used in the i386 build, and shrinks the PPC binary significantly as well.
The full description is this: -N --omagicSet the text and data sections to be readable and writable. Also, do not page-align
the data segment, and disable linking against shared libraries.(The text segment would need to be marked writeable if the data segment is not page-aligned.)
I don't know what "disable linking against shared libraries" entails, but that may be the trick.
