Can we declare global variables in GRUB????

Hai everyone,
             I've been modifying the grub0.93.I'm in
need of sharing data b/w functions though global
varibles.
So i declared those variables at the beginning of the
stage2.c .When i compiled the modified grub,i got the
error as "variable" undeclared in all those functions 
where those global varibles are used.now i'm unable to
use global varibales.

Is it possible to declare global variables in GRUB??
otherwise,are there any other methods to overcome this
pblm??

could any help me as earlier as possible in this
regard???
