EQN - special words

The following

sin cos tan sinh cosh tanh arc
max min lim log ln exp
Re Im det and if for

are treated as special words and are converted to Roman font when
encountered.

As I understand these words, except for the last three, they are interpolated in the output stream in Roman font and with a leading and trailing notional space. A notional space is a space which is mandated, i.e an explicit full-space or '~'.

The last three, i.e. and & if & for, have neither leading nor trailing notional space.

Is my wording precise?

Ted Harding only talked about the trailing space.

Note that when I want something like a 'for all' symbol, I use a
groff_char symbol

        \[fa]

and \[AN] for a logical AND.

Thanks - Damian
