IME `catman' pages are dying out, deservedly.  They were an optimisation
that's no longer needed, and they never worked well, e.g. assuming
details about the terminal that will be used to view them.  Most systems
are happy to install a formatter for their source.  Their production can
be disabled with manpath(5)'s `NOCACHE' on Debian, and Red Hat has
something similar.  It would be nice to see them and their paraphernalia
deprecated.  :-)
