'--prefix=<SOMETHING_OTHER_THAN_/usr/local/>'
when you built.
In the first case, you need to run install-font with the -s flag
(use /usr/share/groff; the default is /usr/local/share/groff).
If the second, install-font has no flag for installations in unusual
basedir locations. I'll have to add one.
