Fellow groffers:
For what it is worth, I use the 'ms' macro set for nearly everything (I
occasionally use OpenOffice.org for short letters). In particular, I
used it for my recent thesis as I was able to adapt it to meet all
formatting requirements, plus a few `touches' of my own (a very nice
index of authors, words and phrases, plus every table and figure in the
document).
On another note, I haven't given up on the 'groff' -> 'RIF' conversion that
I raised a few weeks ago. I've been looking at Gaius' intermediate
output (for HTML) and think I'll have a go at something similar. My C++
is barely passable, but I'll never master it sitting on the sidelines.
Note: this project may take a while, and I'd like to adapt the Python
RTF code that I mentioned in a past note to this task (unless I hear
strong objections from this community).
Regards from Calgary
Dean
