It's worth noting that all these tests are from the tarball (not git),
and all without prce, and without expensive tests.

No failures on the following (amd64 unless otherwise noted):
  Darwin 15.6.0 (=Mac OS X v10.11.6), 14.5.0 (=Mac OS X v10.10.5)
  Ubuntu 14.04 clang-4.0, clang-3.9, gcc-6.2, gcc-5.4, gcc-4.9.4
  Ubuntu 15.05 (x86-64 and i686)
  Ubuntu 16.05
  CentOS 7.0.1, 6.5
  Debian 8.1, 7.6
  FreeBSD 11-p1, 10.1, 9.3
  OpenBSD 6.0, 5.8
  SUSE 42.1
  Fedora 24, 23, 22, 21
  Fedora 20 (ppc64)
  Fedora 21 (ppc64le)
  Ubuntu 14.04 (aarch64)
  AIX 7 (power7)
  SunOS 5.10/5.11 i86pc+sun4

Few failures on the following, I believe most are known/minor:

  Ubuntu 14.04 + musl-libc: gnulib's 'test-localename' fails (but no grep tests
fail).

  Cygwin 2.6.0 + GCC-5.4 (log attached):
      FAIL: c-locale
      FAIL: surrogate-pair

  NetBSD 7.0.1: gnulib's 'test-openat-safer' failed (but no grep tests fail):
     FAIL: test-openat-safer
     =======================
     test-openat-safer.c:101: assertion 'STDERR_FILENO < fd' failed
     FAIL test-openat-safer (exit status: 134)

  Minix 3.3.0:
     same as old outstanding minix problem:
     http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-grep/2016-01/msg00050.html

  GNU Hurd 0.7:
     build fails due to missing 'pthread_rwlockattr_setkind_np',
     same as:
     http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gzip/2017-02/msg00004.html

  OpenBSD 5.9:
     gnulib's 'test-wcwidth' fails (but no grep tests fail).
     This doesn't fail on newer OpenBSD 6.0.

     FAIL: test-wcwidth
     ==================
     test-wcwidth.c:74: assertion 'wcwidth (0x3000) == 2' failed
     Abort trap (core dumped)
     FAIL test-wcwidth (exit status: 134)
