[gpsd-dev] scons: *** [/usr/local/lib/libgps.so.22.0.0] File exists

Yo All!

I was just updating a server I do not get to very often.  The usual
build process yields:

gcc -o shared_json.os -c -Wmissing-prototypes -Wextra -Wall -Wno-uninitialized 
-Wno-missing-field-initializers -Wcast-align -Wmissing-declarations 
-Wstrict-prototypes -Wpointer-arith -Wreturn-type -pthread 
-Wmissing-declarations -O2 -pthread -fPIC -DHAVE_SYS_TIMEPPS_H=1 
-I/usr/include/dbus-1.0 -I/usr/lib64/dbus-1.0/include shared_json.c
Install file: "libgps.so.22.0.0" as "/usr/local/lib/libgps.so.22.0.0"
scons: *** [/usr/local/lib/libgps.so.22.0.0] File exists
scons: building terminated because of errors.
spidey gpsd # 

Why would the install program care that a previous version is installed?

I'll just manually delete the file, but scons needs to be smarter...
