It could but it doesn't have. Maybe on windows static linking
would be better.

On the other hand, as usual with shared lib, if i have a dll or a .so of nettle, and i upgrade it, i don't have to re-build gnutls.

actually, the mingw support is in the repository, so that will be fixed in the next release. And one has to explicitely ask for the shared lib (--enable-shared to configure)
