The difference isn't in the clustering aspect (whatever that
is supposed to mean) but in the parallelizing. Slony-I isn't
parallelizing access to a PG database. It is merely
replicating it to slaves. To my knowledge it does not support
reads from (let alone writes to) the slaves. I may be wrong,
though. Eg. it is not load-balancing.
