It has a little taste, I'd say. After P8 - Q8 - Q9, there are two cuts at
P9 and R9. Not a big difference. I'd prefer Q8, but just.

I disagree. I think the issue is the 12-stone group R5. The moment the R9
group gets captured cleanly, W has to run with the R5 group and doesn't
have time to play M8.
Also, after M8 there is still ko potential for M7. (L6 K6 L8 K7 N8 O8 M9)
