Of course gnugoclient uses the genmove_* gtp commands which do
generate empty threats, since this is intended for actual games.

Not sufficiently it seems. Well, I didn't actually apply your bugfix
patch, only fix the obvious bug in genmove_conservative(), then the
test suite passed. But I don't really think there's anything else in
your last patch that could cancel that bugfix.

Absolutely. But maybe it would be better to reuse the --color option
also for this purpose?
