hello there,
GNU Crypto 1.1 is released and is available from its usual download and
mirror sites --see <http://www.gnu.org/software/gnu-crypto/> for more
details.
As well as being able to be used on its own, GNU Crypto contains
software Adapters and framework classes (implementation of the
javax.crypto extension) that enables it to be used as a Java
Cryptography Extension (JCE) Provider. Future releases, will
facilitate building, testing, and integrating GNU Crypto with free VMs
that use GNU Classpath[1] as their source for the essential Java
language libraries.
Besides the support of new algorithms, and as of this release, GNU
Crypto allows building GCJ[2] (GNU Compiler for Java) friendly shared
native version of its libraries (lib-gnu-crypto.so and
lib-javax-crypto.so).
cheers;
rsn
[1] GNU Classpath <http://www.gnu.org/software/classpath/>.
