Most of CA-42 cable handled by pl2303 driver. Sometimes you need to rebuild the linux kernel and hack the pl2303.h and pl2303.c to add your idProduct and idVendor for your CA-42 if your cable didn't recognize by linux OS.

You can check with lsusb and dmesg when you plug the CA-42 Cable. My suggestion is, if you decide to buy DKU-5 or CA-42 Cable, choose the cable that connected to the COM port of your PC.
