What is the current status of gnokii support for Nokia 6100 over IrDA?

I have one of these enigmatic phones with firmware v0.4.70 (see logs below) and use SuSE 9.3, but have installed gnokii v0.6.8 which still reports that IrDA may break the phone (log below).  The IrDA dongle is a SigmaTel STIr4200 IrDA bridge (USB).

I have read postings of some users having apparent success with the 6100, with both 6100 and AT drivers, which presumably requires editing the blacklist in the common/phones/nk6510.c file.

Other users report the 6100 breaking using communication modes other than IrDA.

Is there a 'safe' set of parameters under which gnokii will work with the 6100 over IrDA?

Regards,

JC

Sorry, this function is known to break your phone (Nokia phones series 40 v1).
Refusing to do it. You may try to use AT driver. If you are brave enough to
test the driver anyway, please contact developers at address@hidden
