xgnokii import from file is broken

Hi,

after upgrading (from CVS around March; sorry, I don't know the exact
date) to current HEAD, importing contacts from a file in xgnokii
doesn't work anymore.  xgnokii can't even properly read files written
by xgnokii using export command.

For example, after exporting, I have the following entries in
`test.gpb':

... in the debug log [1] and [2] in xgnokii.

It seems to me that entries that are shorter than the maximum length
are filled with random garbage (from the previous entry).

Also, some dialog boxes are strange, I think: [3].  I would expect
something like "Overwrite?" instead of "O" in the second line.  BTW:
The contacts window in the background of [3] shows the result of the
(successful) "Read from phone" command.
