Hi Sam,

        you may use the following workaround for the
moment, to get a static compilation for your gnokii:

sh ./autogen.sh --disable-shared
make

>make[1]: Entering directory `/tmp/gnokii/common'
>gcc -shared -Wl,-soname,libgnokii.so.1 -o libgnokii.so.1.0 gsm-api.o

If you want the dynamic way,

On macosX, I have a problem with the --shared option,
that should be replaced by --shared-libgcc,

on other platforms I don't know.
