Threads are not bad because they are bad. The reason
of the statemachine was because the previous framework
didn't work reliably. I already talked to ladis and bozo and
we agreed that we would need some kind of the asynchronous
library. AFAIR Pavel also agreed but he was afraid of the
threads too.

But let's leave this discussion for the next few weeks.
