I see a little of Hurd may be rubbing off on GNU/Linux (that .guix-profile thing reminded me one of the uses of user-land mount points / translators.) Seems like great news!

Regarding going Guix 1.0, I'd say we should see how Guix plays out, although I'm personally inclined to go Guix. This is the first time I heard of it. Is it a really sound distro? Aside from the package manager, how would it differ from gNewSense? dmd? Init system?

I skimmed the project's page, few months ago, it'd sound interesting,
like being able to run different versions of a program, etc.

I'm tempted to say that we should go for GNU Guix 1.0. But, I'd like
to hear what others think about this.
