Yes, it freezes completely and it happens when i try to use my phone (nexus one) as AP for my netbook.

Sometimes it works perfect: i click on connect (wicd) and i get the ip address quite quickly. This morning i surfed fast on the web.

Sometimes it can't get the ip address, even if the phone connectivity is good.
In this case, either the phone or the netbook freezes. And all i can do is shutting down the PC or removing the phone battery.

I'm using a very old kernel: 2.6.32.11. I'll try to update to 2.6.36.2 as soon as i have a good internet connection.

Thanks,
Federico
