JFTR, vrms didn't exist in Debian when Debian was (or at least aiming
to be) 100% free. vrms was introduced when those nefarious sections
were created, to help people remove packages they pull in by accident.
For a 100% free GNU distribution, programs such as vrms are useless,
no matter how accurate (or not) they are. So I agree with Karl here,
although for rather different reasons.
