No, it just reports something along the lines: this top depends on a prior
step... and brings you back to the options - install grub, proceed without.
Install then fails again, proceed without in the next step brings you back
here, and so in a loop...

Ugh, I guess. I've had mixed results debootstrapping Debian in the past...
Maybe I'll have to try as a last resort.
