Hi John,

technically, difficult to say - as I'm not sure how much difference
there is between 4.1.2 and 4.6. However, I'm fairly optimistic as gm2
now generate gimple (necessary for 4.1.2). This was a big step made
between 3.3.6 and 4.1.2. The other steps prior to 3.3.6 were fairly
painless, all the way back to 2.95. The changes between all these steps
have brought a cleaner structure to the code base.

Politically, I think we have to keep doing the work, keep gm2 up to date
with the trunc, show that it is being actively maintained, ensure all
contributions are assigned to the FSF. Listen to any feedback from
people on the GCC development team and apply changes as appropriate.
Then leave it to others to decide whether it is sensible to include it
into the trunc.

Thankfully all the code is assigned to the GNU FSF and all of it is
under the GPL (or LGPL) so we won't fail at this hurdle :-)

regards,
Gaius
