I would have liked someone from the 3rd/2nd/1st year to decide/suggest
the agenda since they would be the ones running the show once the
final year moves out in May. However since that has not happened, let
me do it for the timebeing.

The agenda, as of now:

1. Clearing up matters concerning institutional recognition of the
GLUG. -- This includes getting an account made, getting Dr. Anoop
Kumar and the would-be treasurer to take control of it, deciding on
where, when and how much money comes into the account, and such
bureaucratic activities.

2. Re-Registering the domain name. -- The registration needs to be
renewed in a few days time. For the first year, Vijay Mateti, Arjun
Shankar, Rakesh Pandit, Gagan Bihari Mishra, Radhika Kashyap, Ranjeet
Karan (am I missing someone?) and me collectively donated the required
$ 4.95

3. Providing support. -- This is very very important at this moment.
We have a number of faculty members who are using GNU/Linux on their
personal computers. Here is a break-up:
a. Dr. Anoop Kumar (Mechanical Engineering Department) -- Dual boots
his office desktop with Ubuntu and Windows, while home desktop is
running only Ubuntu.
b. Dr. Y.D. Sharma (Humanities & Applied Sciences Department) --
Running only Ubuntu on his laptop.
c. Dr. Virender K. Sharda (Civil Engineering Department) -- Dual boots
his office desktop with Ubuntu+Windows.
d. There is a professor in Electrical Engineering Department who uses
GNU/Linux. Arjun, knows the details.

e. Prashant Dhiman (Mechanical Engineering Dept) uses GNU/Linux most
of the times. A very enthusiastic person always interested in
learning.

Apart from the teachers, a few laboratories are also dependent on Free
Software systems these days. The most visible being the computer
centre.

So we need a group of people (say 5 or 6) who need to do the following:
a. Answer the occasional call from the teachers, if they run into some
problem or introduce them to new and exciting aspects of using Free
Software.
b. Take care of the computer centre. Currently the pre-final year
(Vivek & Divya ?) students are doing it. Would be nice to have a new
bunch from next year, since the current lot will have a number of
other things to attend to.

4. Who takes care of Razorblade? Who takes care of the accounts? Who
takes care of the mailing list?

6. If someone has any genuine problem, we can all try to help him/her
out. Although the problem can be anything from hacking GNOME, to using
OpenOffice, please note the word "genuine". We have had too many
sessions where people come to the meets and ask questions just for the
"coolness" (read fakeness) of it. Personally I am not interesting in
spending half an hour explaining something to someone just to see
him/her reverting to Windows the very next week.

5. Saying goodbye, tying up the loose ends, ...

As you see, this is a long list. If you have any suggestion express them fast.

Cheers,
Debarshi
