gcmd will continue to keep the connections internally, but password
handling will be delegated to gnome-keyring... In fact, I've already
migrated data from ~/.gnome-commander/connections to
~/.gnome-commander/gnome-commander.xml ;o)
Finally, xml cfg will get rid of passwords.
