Hello,
Finally, the long awaited (well, at least I waited) patch to trigger
quick-search with ALT+[LETTER], instead of ALT+CTRL+[LETTER].
Files altered:
gnome-cmd-data.{c,h} - saved 'alt_quick_search' to the gnome settings.
gnome-cmd-file-list.{c,h} - added a little helper function to tell if
the quick search box is already displayed.
gnome-cmd-main-win.c - added the "gtk_key_snooper" mechanism.
gnome-cmd-options-dialog.c - added "Use ALT for quick search" check box
in the "general" tab.
This feature is disabled by default, as to not frighten new users...
You can enable it by going to the "options" dialog, "general" tab and
selecting "Use ALT+[LETTER] for quick search".
Note: once enabled, you can only access the menu by pressing F10 (since
alt+letter will not work as menu mnemonics).
Assaf.
