[Gcc-conf-discuss] older version of gcc

Can gcc version 2.95 be installed on HP 11.11?  If so, then when I run gnu-make, I am getting the following error:

(Bundled) cc: warning 480: The -g option is available only with the C/ANSI C product; ignored.

(Bundled) cc: warning 422: Unknown option "-W-Wall" ignored.

cpp: "proj.h", line 35: error 4052: Unknown preprocessing directive.

make[2]: *** [bad.o] Error 1

make[2]: Leaving directory `/disk01/gcc-2.95/gcc/f'

make[1]: *** [f771] Error 2

make[1]: Leaving directory `/disk01/gcc-2.95/gcc'

make: *** [all-gcc] Error 2

 

Can anyone lend a suggestion as to what I have done incorrectly?  Thank you.
