Hello,

First of all sorry - I know this is not the right place to ask this
but different kde forums I did not get any help.

I recompiled freetype with the patented stuff turned on (of course
just for fun to see the difference, not for using it!) and GTK and
GNOME immediatly benefited from the enhanement. Fonts now look sharper
and are almost exclusivly 1px wide. I use the DeJaVu-Fonts that come
with FC6.

However KDE and FireFox still show those blurry glyphs, although I
selected the same font. I attached a screenshot how text is rendered
using the same font in kwrite (up) and gedit (bottom).

Are KDE/FireFox linking freetype statically? Any ideas whats wrong?

Sorry for the traffic and thank you in advance, lg Clemens
