EXACTLY!  I'd suggest remove the '2' for the inner name.  And that's exactly
the layout that I proposed back in 2013.  So, just undo the removing of the
freetype2 level you did now, and undo the removing of the freetype/ level you
did in 2013, and we'd be good!

Yet another reason why your most recent change is not good?  You can't install
freetype 1, freetype 2, and freetype 3 side by side.
