Thanks for your analysis. Given that obviously noone has missed
-rpath since a few years, I will remove it completely, generating
freetype-config and freetype.pc at compilation time (with proper calls
to `sed' while running `make') to fix Savannah bug #38235.
Let's wait for reports! In case someone wants -rpath back, it should
be straightforward to add a configure option as you are suggesting.
