Hello,

I've just tagged/released the second release candidate for 2.2

note that the first candidate didn't work at all on Debian Sarge.
this second package works well on this distribution, with the exception
of Gnustep applications (e.g. GWorkspace) which irremediably crash
at launch. I'm investigating, but suspect some problems in the cache
sub-system stubs.

Note that I haven't found any problems with FireFox, XPDF or any
other applications except the GNUstep ones.

Grab it at:

 http://turnerdavid.neuf.fr/freetype/freetype-2.2rc2.tar.bz2

Or through CVS by using the VER-2-2-0-RC2 tag

cvs -d :pserver:address@hidden:/sources/freetype co -r VER-2-2-0-RC2 freetype2
 cd freetype2
 sh autogen.sh

As usual, I'm interested in reports of success/failures for various systems,
addressed to this mailing list.

Regards,

- David Turner
- The FreeType Project (www.freetype.org)

PS:
the list of systems supported by this candidate:

Mandrake 9.2
Ubuntu 5.04
Ubuntu 5.10
RedHat Enterprise 4
Debian Sarge (beware GNUstep crashes)
