[ft-devel] memory fragmentation

[I've translated and forwarded Stefan's email to this list -- I'm no
expert for this topic, so I hope for a competent answer by somebody
else.]

In embedded systems which aren't booted often it would make sense to
use a static memory management, avoiding an increasing fragmentation
of the memory. What do you think? What's a recommended maximum size
for such a memory block under normal circumstances -- i.e., a TTF not
larger than 100KByte, with max. 400 glyphs, probably stored in an
array not larger than 500KB, using default modules, max. 3 charmaps,
one face, no subglyphs.

The original message in German.

Glyphen, als Array max. 500KB, Defaultmodule, max. 3 Charmaps, 1
  Face, ohne Subglyphs) (für fontface,Lib,Stream,etc)
