[Devel] Microsoft .FON types support

Hello there,

 

    I was really happy to find next string in the FAQ for freetype project.

ž         It provides a uniform interface to access font files. It supports both bitmap and scalable formats, including TrueType, OpenType, Type1, CID, CFF, Windows FON/FNT, X11 PCF.

    But when I tried to open standard Microsoft’s MODERN.FON file (version 3.0 I expect), FT_Err_Unknown_File_Format was returned by FT_New_Face function.

    This file is shipped with win2k as standart OEM font. It contains scaleable vector font (not bitmap).

 

    Can you say, please: Does freetype project simply does not support vectored .FON files or maybe there is a way make it open this file correctly?
