Beats me. The entire original Build setup was taken wholesale from the Blanca project as they liked it better than the POOMA r1 build system. Perhaps Julian understood what all this stuff was for, but I never did. :)

I had thought of suggesting that, but completely forgot. What is the

Almost. I would suggest using soft (symbolic) links instead, i.e. ln -sf
instead of ln -f.
