Did you install development library of readline (libreadline-dev or 
similar)?

Can you send me your config.log file?

| Greetings, I am attempting to build the latest freehoo on slackware
|   8.1. I have installed the latest readline, guile, and other required
|   libraries, and built/installed libyahoo2 with the struct-callbacks
|   option. When I run ./configure for freehoo, it gets to "checking for
|   readline in -lreadline", then says no, and just stops. No error
|   message or anything, just stops without generating a makefile.
