I didn't test it very extensively, but it looks like it fixed both the problem with sample rate not being read from JACK, and the kick-out problem as well.
I specifically set the JACK sample rate to 48 kHz, just to be a PITA ;-) and Fluidsynth detected it and displayed the notification (fluidsynth: Jack sample rate mismatch, adjusting. (synth.sample-rate=44100, jackd=48000)). I've also compared the tuning with my piano and it is correct.
