Thank you for the reply.

ESPResSo doesn't seem to use FFTW library automatically because FFTW was installed on my computer.  
User's manual says that the FFTW header files are necessary.  But, I don't know what the header files are.
Could you let me know how to use FFTW header file when installing ESPReSo?

Hi!

As the error says, switching on MODES in the myconfig.h requires that fftw was
found. You can do two things therefore: a) remove the #define MODES from
myconfig.h and not use an mode analysis for membranes or b) install and
compile with fftw.
