Hi all -

Some of you might remember me from a few years back - I made some second gen. graphics for the game - mostly "items." Real life got in the way for a while after that, but I'd like to get back to working on some of the graphics again.

I'm not a professional graphic designer - just self taught - but I think the graphics I worked on before turned out quite well, and most - if not all - of them are still in the game.

It looks like Evan is going to work on some tile sets. I'm willing to work on pretty much anything, but maybe with what Evan will be doing, I should continue working on the items? I believe I also still have some of the items I made before in vector format, so it will be easy to make even larger versions.

I don't normally use Photoshop or Illustrator. I use an older program called Jasc PaintShop Pro (which was later purchased by Corel, and in my opinion, ruined forever). Can someone suggest a good program to use to make .svg format graphics?

Inkscape is the reference: I use it for my job, I made my pupils use it to draw diagrams, I use it to translate figures from raster to vectorial, from svg to pdf...

It runs on all platforms, it is free (in all the senses of the word), it works well with wacom-like devices, and there are many books like Inkscape for the dummies to help you free your creativity. So definitely I would choose Inkscape :-)

I know you want everything to be open source if possible, and I'd like to be able to send Raoul & the team full size vector versions of anything I make, so they'll be available to all the developers in the future.

Ah - got an email today from Raoul suggesting I start with:

 - umbrella
 - bag
 - spade
 - pipes
 - bottle

so that's exactly what I'll be doing first.

I'm glad things are happening with Enigma again!

Best,
Jennifer Robertson
