Thats strange they work for me.

 > Have you forgotten checking in your latest improvements?

thumbs.el CVS-1.26 should have my changes.  Have you recompiled?
(M-x compile <RET> make recompile <RET> in the lisp buffer).  If not,
you might still be loading the old version.
