These changes look right to me, more or less.
I see you've implemented :enabled as equivalent to :visible.
Maybe that is the best thing in practice, but nominally
it is supposed to control whether you can select the item,
not whether it appears in the menu. Would it work ok
as a user interface if we followed that definition on ttys too?
