Which Emacs did you use to write this bug report ?
[ I thought CVS versions stripped this text before sending the report,
so maybe there's a bug in the stripping code. ]

Which `emacsclient' is this ?
Could you `strace' it to see which socket it tries to connect to
in /tmp ?
