    As RMS showed, the curent behavior is the documented one.
    So at least we're not seeing a bug, but maybe a bad choice instead.

I designed this behavior intentionally, and I think it is the right
behavior.  As far as I can see, no one has encountered any real
problem with it; it is simply that someone misunderstood.  If there is
no real problem, let's stop spending time on it.
