That was it, thanks. Following the change, the format must be:
* TODO Headline
SCHEDULED: <date>
:PROPERTIES:
:style: habit:
...
:END:
:LOGBOOK:
...
I got thrown off because I store my past 'completions' in a :LOGBOOK:
drawer which was placed before the :PROPERTIES: drawer, which used to be
ok.
