Thanks, it looks good, except that in the latest commit an unrelated change 
crept into doc/lispref/syntax.texi - something about syntax-pps, which is a 
different topic. There should be no need to change doc/lispref/syntax.texi 
because of text-quoting-style, so I assume that part of the change was intended 
for some other patch and got added to the scratch/customize-quotes branch 
inadvertently.
