Look who's arguing by label now!  The argumentum ad hominem is a
fallacy precisely when used to argue a point of fact unrelated to the
specific individuals discussing that point.

But my point is that since most of us don't have a high degree of
technical expertise, your opinions and recommendations as an expert
should be given great weight if they are unbiased with respect to the
Emacs context.  Unfortunately, I think your experience has biased you
in this context, and have argued that point.

I don't know if technically that's argumentum ad hominem, but it sure
looks like it to me.  In either case, it's valid.
