I'm happy to answer:

You can't expect casual contributors to take up banners and arise.  They
have no history, experience, or significant stake in improving the
usability of Emacs' DVCS.

As far as I have those three, they lead me to keep pushing for Git, but
I must be considered a casual contributor with little influence on the
Emacs project.  Any change must come from gentle conviction at the Emacs
maintainer level and beyond (note I didn't say "above").
