`princ' of a propertized string to a buffer

When you `princ' to a buffer passing a propertized string as arg, should the
resulting text in the buffer get the text properties from the string? Seems
like that would be a good feature. This would be similar to using `insert' to
insert a propertized string.
Also, should the current doc for `princ' say that it does not (currently)
include (add) the text properties in such a case? Just wondering - dunno
whether this is a doc bug.
