8. Test the resulting zip files.
What tests did you usually run?
Test that the unpacked Emacs runs, along with the other exes in the bin directory, and check that the number of files in the zip file is in the same ballpark as the previous version.


It also requires to register a GPG signature, doesn't it?

Yes, your public key needs to be in the GNU keyring to upload to the FTP server.
