TTBOMK nothing of that kind stops implementing Subversion support at
Savannah.  The obstacles are purely technical [1].  

Maybe RMS meant git?  His statement would be very true in this case.
Either way, Savannah has git support [2] now along with CVS and GNU
Arch.
